Mermaids in Charleston

I have always had a love affair with the mysteries in the sea.  Growing up in Charleston, SC you learn to crave the ocean, the waves and the feel of the sand under your feet.  Along with the smell of the salty air and the sound of the ocean breeze comes an active imagination for the fantasy of the mermaid playing under the water's surface.  The Little Mermaid was my favorite Disney movie (my high school band did a winning competition show using the score) and I have always wanted to know if they are, in fact, real.  In the absence of scientific proof of their existence, I have taken it upon myself to generate the indisputable evidence of the very real possibility of these beautiful creatures of the sea.  Anyone can be a merperson- is that a word?  I love the idea of making everyone part of the Charleston Mer-folk community!  No actual beaches or tails needed, just a willing soul and an active imagination...
